These are perfect,great little items and a remarkable price. Keepers. Just want to warn more advanced users that you may need to look for larger sized ones with more slits in them. These only go up to size 32,making any more advanced designs using more than 16 strands near impossible. Great for learners to intermediate though. They could work with just about anything from craft lace (rrexlace) to yarn (even thicker yarn weights),to braided cord,to even thin embroidery floss or thread. Very multifunctional.

The media could not be loaded. These are good if you have budget constraints and will teach a large class of children, which has been the case for me several times.The foam is relatively hardy, though I think it could be a little thicker so that the edges don't bend under eager little fingers quite so easily.But when teaching a class of younger kids who will be rough with the materials, you don't always want to sink money into the most expensive product. In that case, these work well and have lasted a whole 8-week session (1 class per week) for my students (2-6th graders).My biggest complaint with this product is that the markings mostly rubbed off after one class. In the end, the markings were really needed, and after the first use, my class of kids generally ignored them anyway, so take that for what you will.When teaching adults, who will use the disks longer, I usually opt for a more expensive disk set.
