Worked well as a replacement

The media could not be loaded. These are GU10 smart bulbs, that have a funky colour modes and settings. First thing is to download the Wiz app on google play or what appstore, I just searched Wiz and matched the white and black colour icon, after need to create and account and follow on screen instructions. It will ask you to switch it on and off 3x until it starts to flash, connect to a 2.ghz wifi for auto setup or 5G for manual. I did the manual one, it will ask to connect to it when it's flashing purple and white, not blue and white.It was mostly easy when following instructions, a small hiccup when I tried to connect to a flashing blue and white, when I was supposed to connect to it flashing between purple and white. The product is good but I only took 1 star off becaause the value isn't there, I would say a group of 4 bulbs would be worth 15 quid these days, as I have seen others do them with 4 in it. Product is great though couldn't really find a problem with it, aside from the price.I uploaded some photos of the software settings, and what you can do inside, it's not advanced, but it has a lot to play around with. Sadly it's not motion sensor, that was another reason I took a star off. Motion sensor bulbs are a game changer.

This light bulb takes way too much faffing around to connect, the smart connect worked for me eventually but took me ages to figure out. And here i am few months later, its suddenly disconnected for no reason and now it wont connect in the same way i initially got it to connect, wants me to use my wifi connection now, which im not modifying just to connect this lamp. So waste of money unless you know what you are doing or can be bothered to switch your wifi setting back and forth.

Great product

The GU10 bulb is supplied in a large cardboard box together with instructions. The bulb doesn’t require a hub and connects to Wifi or Bluetooth using the WiZ app. I have a fairly extensive Hue system which works very well and, as both Hue and WiZ are owned by Philips, I had hoped for some interoperability between the two systems with, possibly, being able to control the WiZ compatible bulb using the Hue app; however these are two totally apps, with a different look and feel, and with no interconnection between them. Connection to the WiZ app was intuitive and straightforward with just switching the bulb on and off three times and then searching, the bulb can then be renamed and allocated to a room. The colour temperature of the bulb can be changed, from warm to cool white, it can be dimmed and there are a full range of colours and scenes; control is very smooth. Connection with Alexa is through the WiZ app. The bulb is very well made and is very bright on the maximum setting. A good bulb.

This bulb came in a smart box, looking very Philips-esque. I'll admit I was very surprised at it's F energy rating on the box being less than 5w compared to the old school 50w halogens. A glance at the box said it won't work with a dimmer (to clarify, it will work ok but only dim with voice control). Setup was pretty painless with the highly rated Wiz app though paper instructions were scant. I was initially disappointed as you cannot change the colour from the app - it always powers on to warm white and you can only change the whiteness and brightness from there. Things do improve when you add the Wiz skill to the Alexa app and start talking to it though (nearby Echo required). From there you can change colours and brightness like you are the God of Light in your own abode. For that reason I have installed it in my study cluster above my desk where the one bulb can make a difference and I can have "daylight" when required or a moody purple for chilling. I was thinking that I could put it on a schedule as home security but as it's in a cluster the manual switch will over ride the app so you bear in mind you will need to make all bulbs in each cluster "smart" for this to happen. Otherwise I'm really happy with this, it's effective and nice and easy to use - definitely best with Alexa and probably other smart home kit.

I've been beyond impressed with this bulb simply because of how customizable it is. It has so many preset modes such as 'sunset, christmas, party etc.' All of which can be accessed from the app which you'll find the qr code for in the manual. You can do anything with this bulb as long as you have the app. Dimmable, different colours, timer etc. It's fantastic, absolutely made up with it and would 100% recommend.
