“Whisperboy podcast” recommends buying this item
The media could not be loaded. We purchased this machine for our podcast “The Whisperboy Podcast” and we are relatively satisfied with it. You can expect low hum, high treble, and medium bass. This machine is capable of making your voice sound rich and radio quality too if you know what you’re doing. Currently this machine is the best in its class. Bit pricey but it will be worth it in the end. The best thing about this machine is the fact that it balances audio levels up and makes the voice sound better.Update: the machine’s recording disappears and we have not been able to resolve the issue. The Australian customer service has not been helpful and referred us to the UK customer service and they asked us to send the machine to them :(

A great upgrade from the GoXLR
If you're here it's likely you want to upgrade your GoXLR. I use the RodeCaster on a two PC setup, it was little more fiddly to set up but once you dial it in the experience is great and it is PACKED with features. The only thing missing is the full range of virtual audio inputs. Currently I can't separate my System sounds when it comes to Main PC sound and music from Spotify. The rumour is that this will soon be added with a software update, so here's hoping.

Nice looking but DONT be fooled by this!
This is a nice looking item, but once you look under the bonnet you can see and hear the quality is not as good as the looks. The recording levels are so very low, and you cannot adjust them. they sound loud when you tweak the gains as high as they go, but once you save your item your recording and then play it back, it sounds so extremely quiet, its almost faint. I tried many other ways, and its not the cables or any sockets or my pc, its this item, that I soon found out many others had also had the same problem with and they too could not rectify this issue, but returned the item as I did for a refund. RODE please sort this out, its really poor quality sounds this pushes out and certainly NOT worth the money we pay for it. NO good for gaming at all..DO NOT BUY for this option.

Just amazing, using for well over 2 years and is a great investment.
Amazing, have had this for 2+ years now using it on the daily and it performs flawlessly, still receiving software updates for new features along with bug fixes. Would definately recommend if you are looking for an audio console/central place to manage all your audio/broadcasting needs.

Produces lots of good noise, but also produces a lot of bad noise
Picked this up to replace my aging GoXLR, and this device is a significant step up in almost every way. Manages to push my 250Ohm DT1770 pros without breaking a sweat, and as someone who makes good use of the soundboard, having 48 "smart pads" (8 pages of 6 buttons) at my disposal has been great, things like the custom sounds for the censor button are a lot of fun, but there have been a couple shortcomings, some more significant than others. One minor gripe that I haven't seen many other people talk about is with said censor button. Unlike the GoXLR, which will only mute the microphone input when holding the censor button, the RODECaster will mute every single output, on all output channels. This seems sensible at first, since the RODECaster has multiple microphone inputs, and it stands to reason that one would want to mute all of the microphones with the censor button to avoid any profanity leaking into the audio mix via someone else's mic, but it also mutes other audio (game audio, voice comms, music) to the broadcast mix, as well as the headphones. An option to select which devices are affected by the censor feature would be nice. Also, a lack of sleep option is bothersome as someone who has their desk in their bedroom. While the device does have an option to dim the lights and display after a certain period of inactivity, there is no way to turn off the lights and display automatically, and the only way to do this manually is to power off the interface entirely. This wouldn't seem to be a problem on the surface for most use cases, but for some reason the device can backfeed current into my PC, causing all of my peripherals to light up anyway. This is apparently a quirk in the way that power negotiation is handled by the USB standard, and can be fixed by using a USB hub in between the PC and the interface, but I shouldn't have to buy more hardware to fix flaws in what was a £425 audio interface at the time of purchase. That leads me onto my biggest issue of them all. The noise. When I first set up the device and put on my headphones, there was this horrific buzzing/crackling/hissing noise, which persisted no matter what output (both 1/4" rear headphone jacks, both speaker jacks, and the front 1/8" jack) I plugged the headphones into. Apparently RODE were very proud of the preamps and other electronics that they used for their inputs (which, to be fair, are great), but seemed to entirely cheap out on the outputs. This was almost a deal-breaker, but after some research decided to pick up a relatively inexpensive ground-loop isolator, which removed the hiss entirely with an imperceptible effect on volume/audio quality.Overall, a great audio interface, but loses a star due to the fact that I've already had to buy extra hardware to deal with the audio hissing, with a potential third purchase of a USB hub to fix the power backfeeding issue, both of which are barely acceptable in a device that costs over £400.

fabulous kit
What a lovely piece of kit this is. & what a nice change that it makes it so easy to set up. I am so fed with massive instruction manuals that i can't read. It almost kind of talks you through it . ok so maybe some of the finer details need further exploring , but i was up & running in 10 minutes. Fabulous product

Just amazing
This market is getting crowded with devices that do a bit of everything but Rode carve a really quality niche. For something that does so much it makes the user interface very intuitive and teh sound and capabilities are stunning. Still learning things to do with it
