It's not the cheapest you can buy, or the highest specification. I purchased because it was easy to fit and wire, and looks like a piece of original equipment. It is professionally packaged and the instructions/video tutorial are good. And it works. It records in 3 minute segments (this is my first dashcam so don't really know how this compares). I guess if you were involved in an incident finding the segment would be straightforward!

You see the in-mirror concept and think "Wow! No wires! Oh I really want it to work, but will it?" I can report that as a piece of electronics and software, it is competent. Furthermore, the hardware is generous at the price.There's a courageous designer behind this who removed almost all of the options to make it foolproof. I reckon that that firm leadership is why it came out competent. I know the industry btw.The resolution is great and there are no silly image processing tricks that blur when in motion.On the first evening it misbehaved but I reckon that was just cos of the battery being half empty cos with no intervention it behaved perfectly the following morning. In that time, I'd successfully summoned technically educated support, ruled out outdated firmware and was talking about SD card speed until I signalled the all clear. That's fast. In fact, when you place the order, they ask about your car to make sure it's compatible before shipping. So this company is not your usual warehouse bot.Installation of the device is nerve wracking. Careful you don't knock the mirror off the windscreen. I urged them to make a less idealistic video of the installation. Those yellow arrows are inadequate and you really need to know exactly where to stick their tool and exactly which way to force it. You might ask a mechanic to do it. Perhaps the mechanic also cocks it up but at least you'd have somebody to blame.You should immediately enable sound recording which is wrongly disabled by default. You can also pump up the resolution cos the card they supply does about 13MByte/s.The view angle is a tiny bit narrow and there's no "save the last few minutes" button. There are two buttons one of which they could repurpose from its current useless snapshot feature. I guess that'll arrive in a firmware update.Altogether, you have to admire a company that was prepared to make a custom moulding for each model of car and learn about the teething problems of each, just to work around the temporary lunacy of car manufacturers who have a forward facing camera for stupid things like lane nagging but don't implement a dashcam. You should then be struck by the attention to detail throughout this operation. I thought real entrepreneurs were extinct and everybody just cashed in on the dissociated mindset of VCs, but here we see true all-round excellence.

The fact it is part of the mirror housing makes it discrete. The only drawback I’ve found is it suffers from glare when driving towards the sun, but otherwise it’s great.
