OXO Good Grips Prep and Go Utensils with Case

IMPORTANT: This WILL set off metal detectors due to the layers of metal from the housed utensils, so I suggest handing off to the attendant before you even go through if you're ever in that situation. Regardless of that process that I repeated for 10 days out a 12-day activation - we decided to figure out what the offending item was on the second day, and I never needed to be stopped again after that - I am an extremely happy owner of this very thoughtfully-designed OXO product.I sometimes have modelling activations that go 12+ hours, and I hated having to remember to pack silverware every time I chose to pack a meal, and then needing to keep the silverware somehow isolated from everything else after usage to avoid getting anything dirty and ensure that the sharp points and edges weren't able to harm anything around it. While I've never forgotten to bring silverware, there have been too many occasions where it was a last-minute jolt of memory as I was heading out of the door, and I was not in favor of that minor backtrack becoming habitual.I checked out options at several local places between upscale home and digital nomad+outdoorsy stores, but most offerings were more camp-oriented and therefore not exactly appealing in form and appearance, plus they did not help with automatically keeping anything around the utensils clean and free of potential damage. At some point, I turned to OXO to see if an option existed among their products and found this gem. Not available in any local store, and no local options were worth considering in comparison, so an order it was.Arrived just in time for a 12-day activation. Sturdy hinged case that stays firmly closed yet still opens with ease, protecting the utensils perfectly. Decently lightweight without sacrificing weight for the form, function, or appearance of each piece. The utensils themselves handled well and would blend in at a dinner table far better than current competing options on the market. Bonus points for this being created in my favorite color.I rarely need a knife for a packed meal, so I typically leave the knife at home, which makes the case rattle a bit more due to the unused space. I always pack both the spoon and the fork just in case, and ended up helping a teammate who was scrambling for utensils at one point as result, so yay for automatic preparedness.I can see this remaining a part of my travel kit until OXO decides to upgrade it somehow. In the meantime, this sits atop my several HydroFlask meal containers, so I never need a reminder to pack silverware again.

I've had this traveling utensil kit for several years. They are great in size and quality. The scoop part of the spoon is in the middle between a full sized dinner spoon and a small desert spoon. The fork is also medium sized on the tines between a home dinner and desert fork. The knife also does a good job cutting through meats like a porkchop.These are so great I've purchased extra sets for when I don't have time to wash them between shifts and as gifts for others who also pack their own meals. They do well being handwashed or through the dishwasher.

These are great for lunch. The quality is amazing and I love the carrying case. All of it cleans so easy. The silverware is sturdy and I can just stick it right in the dishwasher.

The spoon and fork meet my needs but the knife is terrible. I have used plastic knives that cut things better. I also don't mean cut like a sharpened blade but cut in a saw like motion. Sense I haven't had issues with the other 2 items I think this purchase was good. Case is alright, hasn't popped open and is also easy to clean.

I bought this in May 2024 & still going strong. I chose this one for the case, seemed sturdy & it is. I put the case in the dishwasher & so far so good. The set is the perfect size for work, light in weight but still strong. Soft & easy to grip. I have save much plastic this past year & feel great about it!

Here is a fine set of decent looking and well made utensils, but I bought them because they came in a handy carrying case and I keep them in my locker at work so I always have my own set to eat lunch with. That is very convenient.They store quite well and I can't believe one reviewer couldn't figure out how to work the case - that's just embarrassing.

Have you ever been hungry while driving and pulled into a fast food line drive up and discovered you had nothing to use for utensils but you were too far away to go back? Here’s your answer. When I first saw these on Amazon I couldn’t believe what a wonderful idea to keep in your car. I bought three sets one for my husband and I and the other one just as extras. Preparing yourself for an emergency breakdown on the road, or to use when you just stop somewhere for a quick bite and have to use your fingers…this was a idea I was not going to pass up. I put them in all stocking stuffers and ours too! If I were you, I would never be without at least two sets. They’re sturdy, nice looking and functional. What more do you want for an emergency back up, kept in your car?I mistakenly wrote a review about a different item in a negative fashion but posted on this item in error and was unable to remove it. Please disregard that review and know that this is a great purchase for everyone.

It is nice item, but it's so expensive for this item.
