VEVA PREMIUM HEPA FILTER & 6 CARBON PRE-FILTERS

These replacement filters are fantastic! I'm so glad to have found these which cost much less than the Winix brand filters. While the instructions which came in my Winix 5500 says their filters are washable and last up to 1 year, the couple of times I tried washing it not much dirt came off and the filter remained a dingy gray color, plus it took days to dry. So I opted to purchase these and replace it completely. I am happy I did. They fit perfectly and are so affordable. I love that 6 carbon pre-filters come in this pack. I have so many now that I replace them as soon as the black starts to become discolored by dust and pet hair. My air feels and smells cleaner and consequently I feel healthier.Update 8/26/18 - I tried buying another generic Winix-compatible filter because it was cheaper. There were no reviews for it yet and I decided to take a risk. It was a failure. It was too big, meaning it had to be folded in order to fit in place. That resulted in gaps on the sides which would allow air to flow right past the filter. Also, it smelled strongly of chemicals. I have never had either of these problems with Veva filters and have learned my lesson.

I have heard customers complain that this isn't specifically made for the Winix 5500-2. I purchased 1 for one of my 2 units, to make sure the quality and fit were correct and they were! The carbon filters aren't the same as the bulky, granulated carbon filter that came with the unit, but these thin replacements can be changed every 3 months, and they provide 4 of them, they fit correctly, so there wont be any issue! The HEPA filter fits perfectly, like a glove! As far as HEPA filter build quality. I have seen some complain that it doesn't appear to be as good of quality as the original. I disagree and cant find any negligible difference! Thus, at a price point which is 1/3 of the cost of the "official" WINIX filters, this appears to be a no brainer. I went ahead and purchased another for my other machine and will see how long they last. If they perform for even close to the 1 year period, I will DEFINITELY buy from here again!

The manufacturer contacted me after my original review (didn't fit properly) and offered a replacement with their apologies. I received the new box but someone had torn it open and taken the HEPA filter out. The manufacturer didn't hesitate but sent me a new one in a non-descript box. It fit perfectly. The manufacturer also sent me another one to make sure I got one intact. I can't say enough good things about this vendor. They followed through and made sure I was satisfied. Their filter works great and fits great, and costs much less. I use it in my Plasma 5300. Kudos to a company that truely knows the meaning of customer support!

These are way cheaper than new filters. Plus, the charcoal pre-filter for the 5500-2 model is a different design and very expensive. Took a chance that I could get this one to work. It works great and didn't even need to modify it or mess with it - it just dropped right in and fit great.I don't know anything about various specifications for air filters, but this looks like a perfectly acceptable filter element to me. I don't have breathing issues, but my home gets really dusty (thank you Weimaraners!) and this product definitely helps!

This seller takes great pride in their business. The product was carefully packaged, and arrived undamaged with a note attached to the receipt with instructions on how to contact them if there were any problems with the order. They followed up a couple of days after delivery to make sure everything was fine. They are working hard to earn and keep my business, and I'm happy to share that fact with everyone elseWith respect to the product. It fit perfectly in my HEPA filter and despite a particularly bad season of cedar pollen, the air quality in my bedroom is noticeably better. (I ordered the same HEPA filter for my office and I get the same comment from coworkers who now use the HEPA filter as a reason to hang out in my office.)In all seriousness, its a great product at a great price. It's also a thoughtful touch that the seller includes 6 carbon pre-filters with the single HEPA product. The reason being that you are supposed to change your HEPA filter about 1 time per year, but the carbon filter is supposed to be changed every 2-3 months. So they do the logical thing and give you 6 so that you only need to buy this product once a year. If only everything was so easy.Cheers and breathe well!

Number one this air filter really works! When my wife passes the air cleaner after having foot perfume on, it kicks into high gear until you can't smell the perfume anymore. The carbon filter is simple to change. It's right out front after you remove the front cover put another one in then you're done. The HEPA filter is also easy to change you pull the front cover off remove the carbon filter and there is the HEPA filter easy to come out and put a new one in again. Right on the filter it shows what direction the airflow should go. We all sneeze less since we've had the air filter going. I plan on buying an air quality tester soon to measure the air quality in the house.
