I was so happy to receive the door lock and it fit perfectly in the old space. This is our third one in over 40 years. These locks are so heavy duty and last a very long time.

I am a Property Manager and we have had problems at two properties with community laundry rooms. We purchased and installed this lock on both laundry room doors and all issues have stopped. At one property, we had a cheaper push button lock that we found destroyed one day and the laundry room trashed. This lock is much tougher and has held its ground for a bit over a year now. There have been zero issues or unintentional tenant lockouts. I am very happy we found these locks on Amazon. I’m not positive if they are the same, but they look and feel a lot like the ones I used to see when I was in the Army.

We bought this in April, could not set the lock combination buttons, called 800 number helpline, still could not so I sent it back and it was never refunded... after I called them they said it took a little while but its been over 2 months!

The lock is preconfigured for right hand open out, my install was to a left hand open. The process to flip from one side to the other is a bit tricky for the average person, handyman. I have installed several over the years so I was somewhat familiar with the process. Still, it took longer than I expected and found that the manual was geared more to the experience installer.That having been said, the quality of the lock is very good. I have purchased this lock 30 years ago and found it to hold up well. It was the abuse of tenants that necessitated the replacement. Today's version is almost mechanically identical. Well made, no substituting plastic for metal parts. In 1990 I paid nearly $200 more per lock than today.It is critical to install the plastic bumpers to deaden the force exerted on the bolt when the door is slammed. That is the weakest point in the entire lock, other than the fact in the older iterations of this lock, a well-placed rare earth to magnet will unlock the mechanism.

Finally the answer for a combo lock with a combination that can be changed and does not use a battery. This lock has been installed on a exterior gate. I’ll try to review after a year to let you know how it holds up. (I always think it is odd when someone gives a 5 star review after 1 day. I always want to know if the thing lasted.) The only thing that I think is good to know is that I consider myself fairly handy. I’ve installed many locks and have completed numerous remodels. I quickly gave up attempting to figure out how to install this. I called a pro who figured it out.

Great way to keep your gates or doors secured and not have to worry about changing batteries or having power. We would usually buy this product from fencing or metal shops and they were twice the price for the same exact item. It's easy to install I highly recommend it.

I love this lock! I bought one nearly 30 years ago and moved it to 4 different houses. After 30 years of use one of the buttons was becoming a little clunky so I left it in last house. Hopefully this one lasts just as long.
