This variety, bred by Dr. Neil Holland at North Dakota state university, matures earlier & stores longer than the standard buttercup squash & topped the charts in our comparative field trials for quality & yield. Several fruits are produced on each compact, bush-type plant making this an excellent yielder of winter squash for small gardens.

Very impressed - huge yield of squash!

Started a few of these crookneck squash seeds indoors (April/May 2020) before transplanting to garden. They germinated well but I had an issue with some of the seedlings wilting a week or two after transplanting. (Next time I will just direct sow them as they were very quick to germinate). While only 1 plant survived, it more than made up for the others - it grew to over 7 foot in diameter and continually produced squash from mid-July into early October. It yielded at least 80 squash off the single plant, which was more than plenty! I recommend harvesting them before they get too large as they are more tender and have fewer seeds that way.Would definitely recommend these seeds and will be growing them again this year.

I Was Sent Expired Seeds.

I got a best by 12/2017 package so I'm hoping that my seeds will germinate. Not happy that I paid the price that I paid for what I've been lead to believe expired seeds. Will update this review once I get these seeds planted in a few weeks.March, 21, 2018Well after a few failed attempts I finally hace some success with two seedlings that are doing well. The only thing that I notice is that the leaves on our squash wilt in full sun light so I moved them to a spot to where they get indirect sunlight and they're doing well.

Full of vitality!

I purchased these to plant in a combination of Corn, Beans and Squash called The Three Sisters. My garden is in the high desert at 5,300ft, and is primarily sand. I have added some organic ammendments and will continue to do so as long as these continue to grow. These seeds sprouted remarkably well! This is a harsh environment for gardening, an in fact my 10 year old apricot tree was nearly killed this year by a two day freeze in early April which destroyed the new fruit and damaged the foliage. We also get hot, dry winds later in the Summer which I will need to deal with. But the plants so far seem very hardy and I hope for the best.

Waste of My Time and Money!

The seeds did not germinate. I will have to recorder from a different provider as none of the seeds germinates for me. Very disappointed.

Easy to Grow... But.....

I was excited to receive these and plant them because I love yellow squash. The fact that it is organic was a plus to me too and I didn't mind spending the extra money for that. I planted them and was so happy to see them sprout healthy and strong. Then blossoms, great! 2 days after that, the plants just died. I had watered and fed them as needed all along, but they still failed.

expired squash seeds

My squash order was placed in January 2019. All the seed varieties arrived with “use before Dec 2018” printed on the jackets.

Almost 100% germination!

Got a ton of plants from this seed packet! Can’t wait to see how many squashes I get per plant! Will update in a few monthsIt’s now August and had so many plants I had to give some to my neighbors! The squash are delicious! From one plant, I get at least 2-3 squashes per week. Now multiply this by 10! So much squash had to start giving them away to friends. Thanks 🙏 will buy again next year

Great Buy and So Easy To grow

I would absolutely recommend this seed to anyone looking to grow veggies this year. I decided to do starts this year and just three days after planting, I had a zucchini! I wanted to make sure that I shared this with anyone thinking about buying seeds here because it can be a disappointment when seeds don't germinate and I can happily report that I am very satisfied with these results!
