my vacuum broke I ordered this to replace the broken heart unfortunately, it did not fit so therefore the vacuum is still broken. The package did come quickly, but I had to turn around and return it except the return which was great.

Our vacuum is very old and these pieces broke. Easy to install and works perfectly now

True that the colors are not the same (dark red vs bright apple red) and true feels like a bit thinner or less quality plastic if thats a thing. But i was able to install just the button part and it works good enough with the current lower part. I couldnt get the lower part out without fear of breaking the canister part, so left and tried with the replacement button. Clips in, holds tight, and easy to push to get the canister off. but need a little extra push to open the bottom to empty as if the button is slightly shorter. Well see for long term use.

I love Dyson for many reasons but their ease of repair is second to none. When this part broke on my vacuum, I found the part easily on Amazon and placed my order. Replacing the part was equally as easy to do. Parts are quality made and easy to install. My only negative comment is that they do not come with instructions but if you need them you should be able to find these online.

Poor quality. It appears that the part was produced on a 3D printer. The tolerances caused the part to stick and not return to the initial position after emptying the debris tank. I used a file to modify the edges that were binding and that helped somewhat. I have a second and identical Dyson and was able to test the same part. It worked without an issue. It was my fault for not testing the new part earlier. If I had I would have returned it then bought the replacement part from Dyson. A 15 minute repair took several hours.

The parts fit without any issue, however the parts do not match the bright glossy deep red finish of the original parts, which makes it stand out more. Thus, if you are particular about the finished look, you may want to think about this version, however the parts do work. Not sure as yet about the quality of the parts. Solid plastics can be hard to judge, as they can look good, and look like they are a hard plastic but can end up being very brittle, time will tell.

I see many complaints about this not fitting old DC41 Cannister for not only this product but with other similar replacement parts on Amazon. I am just writing this to help DC41 users to understand for the latest update. I have recently broken the upper part and ordered this and got them work.1. This is not the original part and is not the same shape.2. The difference is the original part has extra material on the upper part, when this replacement part has extra material on the lower part. I think this is where people get confused.3. You have to replace BOTH parts for the reason to make it work.4. I really think you should disassemble everything to easily replace those 2 clip features, but I somehow managed by using my fingers to force the features to come out.5. Taking out the parts is easy, the tricky part will come when you have to insert the lower part with the spring. What I did is just push down the spring by hand and insert it by force. Just be careful not breaking anything.6. You need to make sure the spring is on the right place to locate the clip features on the right spot and give enough retention. There is a little hole in the spring hole for the this featue to be located.Good luck.

and somehow this latch was broken when it landed. this part is a perfect replacement. i snapped it right in and voila all fixed and good as new
