I love it but taste is not good
"I recently purchased this product which I really like except for the fact that it tastes like chemicals. I checked online to see if I had properly primed the filters but it seems like I didn't. I then primed the filters, cleaned them with only a wet sponge and tried it again, and the taste was amazing. However, after a week, the bad chemical taste has returned. I am hoping that customer service can assist me before I request a refund for this product."

Easy water filtration
Solid block carbon filtration is one of the best ways to purify water and this is a great unit in most ways. It came with everything needed to get started and a few extra and unnecessary parts, an extra plastic spigot for example, in addition to the metal spigot. The directions were somewhat helpful but there is definitely room for improvement in that area. Fortunately, nothing about it is too complicated so it went together pretty easily. The most time consuming part of the set up is soaking the filters for 30 minutes before use. That is true for all filters of this type. It delivers clean, good tasting water with a good flow rate to fill glasses quickly. The directions say to keep water in the top half so it replenishes the filtered water in the bottom half as you use it but, the part where the top sits on the bottom leaks and made a big mess. It's fine if you fill the top enough to filter the bottom but if you keep the top full you will be cleaning up puddles. Not great in my opinion and for the price it should work better.

Great addition to my emergency stash
I've been wanting a water filter system for emergency use for some time now so when this item came up I didn't hesitate to order it. The design is very similar to the design of the brand name product, almost a clone really. These aren't complex products, they are just containers that allow the filter to do it's job. The filter is what makes these effective. This unit is easy to use and provides some reassurance that, in case of an extended emergency which results in store shelves being wiped out, I will at least have safe drinking water. Also useful for camping, I suppose, but just as easy to bring bottled water.

Easy Filtered Water
I originally was looking to install an under sink filter but didn't really want to go through the hassle of that and this is a perfect solution. Putting it together was fairly straight forward except for the fact that it came with an extra plastic valve for some reason and extra wing nuts that I have no idea what they do, the instructions were not very helpful but after some fiddling I got it all together. The difference in taste between my tap water and the filtered water is night and day. It does take a little while to fully filter the 2.5 gallons but that's to be expected. The filters are a common size and easily replaceable which is awesome however I do think that this unit is a bit overpriced for what it is. While it is well made and easy to use I do think if you really wanted you could probably DIY something very similar for a lot cheaper. This is a quality unit and much easier than installing an under sink filter but due to the price, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Okay
This Purewell Gravity-fed Water Filter System is great for drinking water. In case of a loss of our normal water from the city, it will make the boiled water from the nearby stream taste much better. We tested it by priming it and running some test water through it. Maintaining the water in the top half to feed the bottom half is sometimes messy. It tends to leak some. We changed out the plastic spigot for a stainless steel one and that helped some. This system only holds two filters unlike some that hold four. Therefore, you have to choose which ones you want to use. The flavor is nice, clean and refreshing. I do recommend it.
