StarbucksHot Cocoa, Double Chocolate, 7 Ounce

This cocoa is very good it has chunks of cocoa bits in it they don't melt right away so when I drink the cocoa it is like a little crunchy treat. It's very rich and delicious.

This hot chocolate is by far my favorite. It is way better than the envelopes that you get in the store, and with whip cream on the top, it’s a little slice of heaven on Earth.

This hot chocolate is amazing. Not cloyingly sweet but still very, very chocolatey. It has the perfect level of smoothness, sweetness and a very slight hint of the dark cocoa bitterness you find with high quality chocolate that gives it that extra richness. I could keep drinking cups of this cocoa all evening without being overwhelmed by sickly overwhelming sugary sweetness of other inferior hot chocolate mixes. Alas, this is a very small tin and makes between 7 to 9 generous cups of hot chocolate. I got it on subscribe and save for $7.90 which means each cup is slightly under a dollar. It is definitely cheaper than going out to Starbucks but is pricey for a hot chocolate mix. I've occasionally found these tins on sale at TJ Maxx, Homegoods and Macy's right after Holiday season but it is getting rarer by the year. So far I have yet to find hot chocolate that pulls of this delicate balance between a deep chocolate taste and a light sweetness. Most chocolate mixes are sugar heavy and too sweet.

Fabulous taste

I purchased 7oz "Can" of Starbucks "Double Chocolate" HOT COCOA on Amazon. Made a cup when it arrived and it did not taste like the Starbucks Double Chocolate in 6oz envelopes I used to find at the grocery store, it tasted more like Milk Chocolate. Then I read this on the can I received; "2023 STARBUCKS CORPORATION. NESTLE USES STARBUCKS TRADEMARKS UNDER LICENSE." I tried it one more time and same result it does not taste anything close to the same product formerly sold to my local grocery store in a box with 8 6oz envelopes of Starbucks Double Chocolate Cocoa. Rather it tastes awful, like milk chocolate with real small bits of chocolate mixed in. I feel had!! Bait and switch.

I’m sorry to say this is not as good as I remember it. I’ve tried it now three times with no more than 8 ounces and it just doesn’t bite. I remember. The Starbucks that came in individual packages and that seemed stronger so look around.
