Category 6 : Day of Destruction [ 2004 ] DTS Widescreen

Thomas Gibson heads the cast as Mitch Benson in Category 6-Day of Destruction in what was probably his just prior to "Criminal Minds" days where he plays Aaron Hotchner.In this he plays the head of Chicagos Electrical Supply Unit who is having a brief affair with Chandra West who represents one third of a team using every dirty trick in the book to gain a Government contract whether that costs innocent lives or not.Amy Harking(Nancy McKeown) is a reporter for a small local news station and finds out from a "source" that there is extreme danger in the way the outside team are pushing things too fast and too hard and that an ensuing Serious Weather warning which predicts a Hurricane meeting a Tornado head-on in Chicago in a few days time will cause devastation on a scale never ever seen before!Veteran actor Brian Dennehey as usual gives good value for money,Nancy Sakovich works hard to keep her family together and is very convincing and Randy Quaid plays a Tornado chasing nut-case.Nearly 3 hours long but worth watching over 2 nights.

This was too realistic for me. When they started to being cannibals I stopped watching the film. Unless you have a strong stomach I wouldn't recommend watching this film.

In the shadow of the Hollywood-blockbuster "Twister",they made this one for TV.The effects are good enough for TV - Quality.The second one of the "Category-series" are much better.The only reason I bought this one is Mister Quiad as Tornado-Hunter.He's also in the second one.

Nice film in English just need to get category 7 in the country

Do not consider it unless you want to waste 4.5 hours of bad acting, bad graphics, bad scenario and mixed up direction.

Enjoyed the DVD - I have a particular like for all disaster type movies and thought this one better than most.
