They take the impact out of striking the stitch cutting guide and seem to make cleaner holes. They will get damaged by repeated use, but this is what they are designed for.

I'm not sure why I thought that because the description doesn't mention it. And they are a bit smaller than I expected, despite knowing the dimensions before I bought them. I guess our brains see what they want to see. To be honest, could any material heal from punctures from a leather punch? lol. These are good for intended purpose.

These are the best punch mats that I have ever used...I use them for my leatherwork, and it is so easy to punch and remove the tools from the leather without damaging them...Recommended...

I use these because I'm fond of hammering stuff.My neighbours where my little workroom is, are not so keen on me hammering stuff.They do dull the noise which spoils my fun a tad but hey, I still get to hammer so all is well.I've actually used them otherwise, for leatherwork, punching, cutting, as weights, even under hot dishes/cups to save warping my cutting mats, lots of stuff.They do also, have a little bounce so please be aware.

They are very effective. After destroying my cutting matt, I got these to protect my new matt and chisels. Not big, but big enough, and they come in a 3pk!

I used these when I had a couple of projects cluttering up my workbench and I needed just enough space to punch stitching holes or lacing holes for a small project, such as a wallet or card case. There is not rationale for buying a new gigantic new "punch" board if you only need a small pad to do some local punching on small items.

Exactly as the headline. Very cheap, but works perfectly. As good as what you'd get in your leather shop, but less than half the price.
