This phosphate binder was great for my kidney-diseased cat. I don't feed my cat a prescription diet, as I don't believe cats should be on low protein diet, until stage 4 (my cat is between stage 2 and 3), as cats are still carnivores, and the prescription food is low and poor quality protein. I try and get my cat to eat as much wet, canned food as possible, with extra water added, but it does have 0.68% dry-matter phosphorous, which is relatively low. After a few months, he didnt want to eat the food anymore - I was worried his kidneys had gotten worse. After I added this phosphate binder, he started eating 2x as much, so back to his normal quantity and gained weight. I started out slow in adding this to the food, as cats can be sensitive to changes to their routine. Now, I give half of the powder in each capsule for every 2.75 ounces of wet food. This phosphate binder does contain fish, so if your cat doesn't like fish, you might not be able to add much (my hairdressers cat is like this), but luckily, my cat does like fish. 😉

My cat refuses to eat even her favorite food with anything sprinkled on top of it. As a last ditch effort. I wait for her to eat in the morning and then give her this capsule as I would a pill. Despite my vet's initial skepticism, my cat's phosphorous levels have returned to normal and have remained there - so in my book, the product and the means of administration are very effective.

This a veterinarian recommended product for my cat. He now gets it on his food daily. It must taste good as he eats it. Yes, I recommend.

My vet recommended this for my kitty's kidney disease. When I opened the capsule, the odor was so foul and even when mixed with her food, she refused to eat it. Please know this product has a very strong odor and is NOT tasteless.

Absolutely not! Not only does it smell horrible but it’s way to big to shove down my cats throat and when it doesn’t mix in water well. It’s almost like mixing oil and water and when I gave it to her she started drooling. Awful. I gave it 3 stars as this product may actually work and would have saved me money as now she’s on 2 meds instead of this one but i couldn’t get it down her throat. You need to make these smaller!

Me parece una buena opción. Apenas comencé a usarlo. Mi perrita, que es tan tiquismiquis, no se ha dado cuenta y toma su agua con regularidad sin notar el cambio. Mantiene su aliento fresco. Espero que le ayude al cuido oral, como parte del mantenimiento, además de su limpieza con el veterinario.
