2023 Practical Calculations for Electricians: Exam Questions & Study Guide for the 2023 National Electrical Code

This was a perfect addition to my study materials.There are some editorial errors, the most prolific being the practice questions not being numbered.But that actually turned out in my favor since I had to number them myself and sort of helped solidify my attention to detail in the material covered.

If you are learning and new to electrical pick this up and keep in your library as it will guide you on the formulas you’ll be using in your career.

I bought this book along with 2 others from the same author. The 2023 Texas Electrician Exam Prep Study Guide and 2023 Journeyman Electrician Exam Prep Study Guide. I was very disappointed when I received them and thumbing through realized that all 3 books are word for word the exact same thing just with a different title. If I would have known this from the beginning, I would not have purchased all 3 books and saved myself a whole lot of money. It is a good book, and will be beneficial in helping me study for my license, but all 3 are definitely not needed. So buyer beware if looking at all 3 books!!!!

I ordered this NEC calculations book brand new and was expecting it to arrive in pristine condition. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. The book arrived with damaged pages, visible scratches, and looked dirty and worn, as if it had already been used. Very disappointing for something sold as new. I wouldn’t have paid full price had I known the condition it would arrive in.

Very useful for learning key chapters in the NEC, for electrician apprentices.Con- There are some errors in the solution keys in back.Pro - Solutions are clear enough that you can fix the errors yourself. Mostly just typos.

The Journeyman book truly helped myself and coworkers learn to navigate the NEC book. Plenty of practice tests and very realistic code questions that are very similar to the State of Michigan Exam, same for the Masters. Unfortunately they are drying, because Amazon confused my books with sponges apparently! The box was left out in the rain under a dripping rain gutter all day, the books weren't even wrapped in plastic so they are sopping wet! I've edited and changed my delivery preferences to leave the package in a plastic bag on wet days, I've had one out of hundreds of delivery drivers actually tell me she didn't have bags, all others disregard my request

Terrible print quality. Riddled with typos and self assessments are useless. The questions are not even numbered for when you want to check answers.

This book was very helpful for studying mathematical equations for my PLT, it involves a lot more high voltage electrical questions but there are plenty of problems that relate to low voltage. Biggest issue is that the last final exam is missing an answer key to check your answers. Have no way of knowing how you did.
