Top quality, nicely weighted, great finish.
Wow - What a quality piece of metal! A big part of the shave is down to the blades, ( I'm getting on great with "Astra" blades - but I can't find a link unfortunately ), but for a handle under £30, I'm very impressed and would highly recommend this. It's nicely weighted, and has a great finish to it. When my sister saw it, she ordered one for her partner too.I switched because I liked the idea of using a single blade, and personally, I find it much more comfortable on my face, and it causes significantly less irritation. You can get 100 blades for under £10. Using one edge per shave means 200 shaves, and I generally use each edge twice. That means over a year's supply for me.I switched to a shavette (folding razor with replaceable blades) a few years before this, and had a great experience with it. Problem was, the moment you stopped concentrating, ketchup face. I love shaving with a single blade, and I haven't cut myself in three months of using my Bluebeard Scimitar!

Nice little hair scraping tool
Just finished my first ever DE shave solely using products from bluebeards revenge. Even though it took some getting used to it was one of the most comfortable shaves I've ever had. I don't know since it's a pretty basic concept, but the shaver did a good job, no more cartridge nonsense for me. It glides very smoothly, has a nice feel and weight to it and looks stunning pretty much anywhere you'll lay it down. Does everything I wanted it to do, just as long as I remember to keep it in the right angle... I deducted a Star because I believe changing the blade is easier in some other razors of comparable price.

Bluebeard would be on a trail for vengeance after this...
Let me start by saying that I really liked the Razor and the shave it enabled - until I accidentally dropped it in the shower and it snapped into two pieces...Clearly the screw joint between the head and the body isn't strong enough, as a 2ft drop onto a plastic shower tray caused it to fail miserably.I tried to contact the manufacturer about the issue and had my e-mails completely ignored - apparently they don't care about after sales service once they've got your money. My advice would be to look elsewhere, as despite it doing a pretty good job, I can't justify the price for the poor longevity...

Unsure
When I first looked at this razor I was unsure even after reading several reviews. I always think a product is only as good as it's worst review. However I was pleasantly suprised. I have used cartridge razors for my whole life having shaved for the past 20 years. I recently moved to using a brush and cream a break through. Then I bought this to accompany my new shaving regime. The razor is superb I have not cut myself once and have had a good shave on every occasion. I will not be looking back. It is also very easy to use after reading someone struggled with angles and cutting themselves this concerned me. However I have not had such issues. It has also not slowed my shaving down as you can move this razor as quick as any cartridge razor.I can recommend this razor

Brilliant
I've have four DE razors, two of them were from boots. The one I started with was a Wilkinson Sword Blades Classic Double-Edged Razor +5 Blades device. It was a little scratchy. That was quickly replaced with a butterfly model. That's lasted about 8 months I guess, until it's become clogged with either stubble or rust. Replaced by a Boots DE razor, for a few pounds. That's been replaced now with this magnificent piece. One thing that I've noticed with this is that the curve of the blade inside the head is of much gentler angle (or smaller circumference) than the curve of the blade in the boots model, personally I find it far more comfortable than the others and the pirate logo makes it glide more comfortable on the face.If you invest a relatively small amount of money (vs. Gillette Fusion Manual Blades - 8 Pack) for this razor your daily shave will break even in no time.

I wish I bought one years ago!
I've been shaving for the past 30 years using all manner mainstream wet razors from the normal big brands; this razor has been a complete revelation. I have been a sucker for all the advertising hype about 3, 4, and 5 blade flexible head razors with vibrating handles etc being state of the art and the only ones to provide a decent shave. It's been a very costly mistake and one that I won't be making again. This razor provides a shave at least as good, if not better, than any of the mainstream products, Don't worry about getting cuts and nicks as this razor is as safe as any other I have tried and doesn't require any special technique. It's a lovely piece of kit with a quality feel. Highly recommended - save yourself a fortune and switch to a proper razor.

£10 for a skull and crossbones!
As an inexperienced DE shaver I purchased this razor as a step up from my Boots Double Edge Safety Razor. I won't lecture on the merits of DE shaving over cartridge or electric but suffice to say the extra weight and shorter handle make it easier to use and it feels like a sturdy, well built bit of kit.The only reason I've not given five stars, and the main reason for writing a review was to highlight, that it is identical to my flatmates cheaper Edwin Jagger De89bl with the exception of the Bluebeards Revenge Logo etched onto the top of it. Basically I spent £10 on a pretty picture.
