Excellent printer...for newbie or experienced.

This was my second resin printer/third 3D printer ever purchased and, at the time...the largest. I was very apprehensive when making this purchase, but the online reviews (both on Amazon and elsewhere) helped me make that jump. And I'm glad I did. This printer, out of the box, has been nothing short of a powerhouse. After unboxing, I immediately ran the test print...and it came out nearly perfect. Tweaking and dialing in the settings (there are a LOT of guides out there to help out), the only failures I've had were either due to me (poor supports mainly) or temperature-related (which was solved by purchasing a mini heater that fits easily inside the cabinet). The details are outstanding, even when printing smaller parts. And the overall size is second only (for me) to the M3 Max. I use nothing but Phrozen 8K Aqua resins in this machine, and have various settings pre-set/stored according to layer thickness and anti-aliasing.As for slicers...I use both Lychee and Chitubox Pro depending on what tickles me at the moment, and neither have given me any issues whatsoever. I've even shut the machine down for weeks on end (usually when I've been gone from home or when it simply got too cold that even then heaters couldn't keep the enclosure warm enough) and it's never failed to print on restarting and getting it all warmed up and the vat filled.I DID purchase the Mach 5 screen protector for this and ordered a couple extra vats which I then switched out to nFEP (purchased here on Amazon) which allowed me to tweak the time to print even a little bit more (nFEP provides less resistance than the standard FEP film, so lift speeds and height can be reduced a bit to reduce overall print time).Overall, I have not one bad thing to say about this machine at all. The Wash/Cure station - that's a different story and a reason why I gave Technical Support 4 stars rather than 5. But the printer itself? 100% worth the money!

So good I am going to buy a second one!

Ease of use: This is NOT my first resin printer, I have two others that have served me well and are still going. It is however, easier to level and keep it's level. The big display panel and instructions on the thumb drive make it a breeze to get going. The feet on the resin reservoir help to align it to the print bed.Quality of Prints: I mainly print 28mm miniatures and the detail at 8K with a resolution of 0.020 mm is simply awe inspiring! I have seen the prints off of 12K printers and there is NO difference between them (vs. 8K prints) to the naked eye! So get the Mighty 8K and be assured that you are getting the best there is. If you are printing bigger items you will probably want to enable Anti-Aliasing and delve into your particular slicer's settings.Construction: This printer is solidly put together, nothing shoddy about it.Cons: I wish the resin reservoir had a more pronounced pour groove but it is adequate. On the topic of the reservoir a better fill line would also be appreciated. Both of these are pretty minor gripes in the scheme of things though.Pros: Large build plate, easy to level, and the build plate scraper works like magic!Life Improvements: I went ahead and got the Flexible Build Plate from Wham Bam Systems for the Might 8K and I don't care WHAT printer I get in the future I am going to get a flexible build plate for it!Final Thoughts: It is a great printer, with a large build plate, that is easy to level and operate!

Good when it works. Not the best customer service.

When I first acquired this printer, things seemed to work perfectly. I tend to do lots of research on products, especially pricey ones before I purchase them. I have done 3d printing before for some time so it isn't native to me. I like to believe I am technologically competent as most of my friends come to me for a lot of their tech issues and I eventually manage to solve their problems. After 3d printing for a while, I decided to upgrade printers, and after seeing plenty of good reviews online as well as some online individuals whom I watch on the internet use these printers, I was looking forward to purchasing this printer. After deciding the amount I wanted to splurge on a printer and what type of printer I wanted, I was bouncing between this, the Elegoo Saturn 2, and an Anycubic Photon Mono X 6k. I of course chose this printer - the Phrozen Sonic Mighty 8k.When the printer came, it was easy to set up according to what was suggested online and on their website. I got it calibrated, everything was prepared in a manner to ensure the printer is in the best printing environment I can make with the highest chances of success for printing. Even with all this work and effort, printers still have a chance of failure - that is just a fact in 3d printing, but if you are competent then you should have much more success than failure. The printer worked fine for a short while, I had excellent prints with incredible detail. The printer itself didn't have many fancy bells and whistles, the main thing people said online about it is that "it just works" and it did for a short time.Sadly, given just a few days, the printer suddenly began to fail and would not create a single successful print. I spent a lot of my personal time and money attempting to get it to print properly, the main issue being a lack of adhesion to the build plate which can be caused by many factors and is normally easily fixed. However, nothing I did was making any improvement, everything I read online on reliable forums and credible sights was telling me to do the things I had already done. Just to be sure I didn't mess up, I did it again and ensured I did it perfectly. After a lot of time spent with the printer, I had given up and decided to contact customer service. I gave them the checklist of everything I did. I had high hopes for their customer service. From what I heard Anycubic practically ghosts their customers, Elegoo is above and beyond, but Phrozen seemed to not be anything splendid, but at least somewhat helpful from what I had heard.I gave them the benefit of the doubt, yet after a few weeks of communicating with customer service who I am pretty sure weren't reading my messages (as they'd tell me to do the things I already did and told them I had done) and no progress being made, I had decided to return the printer. I could give them the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe I had a bad printer from a faulty batch. Perhaps it was something on my end yet after all the help from customer service, no improvements were made regardless. I wasn't treated poorly, but it appeared the customer service only reads keywords and doesn't bother reading your messages thoroughly and the wait time can be a big pain - as I'd get a message once every three days from them. They offered me a discount code to buy more resin due to having wasted plenty trying to cultivate a successful print, but after asking for the code or some method to acquire the discount, they avoided the questions and sent more suggestions about how to fix the printer - which is quite poor. When you promise a customer something you should be sure to deliver. The prints either did not come out at all and stuck to the nfep - or when they were on the build plate they were incredibly warped and incomplete. I have searched online for what causes this problem and tried to solve it yet to no avail even with customer service. Sadly, it seems the people that they sponsor or online pages that are big reviewers get special treatment (as always) and their real consumers get the bare minimum. Still better than Anycubics customer service from what I hear.I have returned this printer and am instead buying an Elegoo Saturn 2. I have yet to use it as I am waiting for it to get here. I heard Elegoos customer service goes above and beyond, going out of its way to do extra work. They also have more reviews (with a 4.5 stars average), many people seem to prefer Elegoo over any other brand, and most of the people I know use Elegoo and they have nothing but nice things to say about it.
