Spencer 100' Logger Tape (Model 900) with Bailey Nail

This Spencer tape is my second one, It replaces a Spencer 50' tape that my Grandpa gave me 30 years ago. These tapes are not just for logging...use mine for measuring building foundation staking. The thing is built like a tank and in 30 years have yet to replace any parts. The old 50' footer could use a new tape it is a little faded after 30 years of hard work. You can't go wrong with this tape.

100 foot, auto-retracting. This is so solid, I can't believe I didn't have one already. This is for framing and layout and fencing. Tough. Steel and aluminum throughout. Graduations are only to the eighth-inch, so it isn't for cabinetry. Clip it to your toolbelt.

Great quality as to be expected just don't take the blue housing off like I did. Your spring will fly off and you'll have to buy a new spring.

This tape is great except the body is the same as the classic 75’ loggers tape, it’s just got a 100’ refill stuffed in it. The problem is if the tape gets dirty AT ALL it doesn’t have enough space in the body to rewind completely.

Came straight of the package beat up, wrong hook, and I believe it was a refurbished unit

Great to have when your measuring something over 12 feetdoes require adjustment to give you an accurate first inch ( crimped nail needs to be bent to adjust)

Do some construction/handy-manning every now and then. Great for large layout of projects. Saw it on Essential Craftsman, Very good purchase.

The Bailey nail is hard to get used to and the tape came with a link at the 2 inch mark.
