I didn't give it 5 stars because I don't know where this product sits. On a shelf? In my backyard? What is its purpose? It can't do what my real R/c cars do. It can't sit on a shelf replacing a metal static model. So it doesn't really do anything at a 5 star level as far as I can tell.When I received this, I double-checked to make sure it wasn't a static model. I'm surprised. I'm used to R/c cars with plastic shells that get attached to a chassis. This is more akin to a shelf model converted into an R/c. This does have a plastic body. The paint itself is not as nice as some static models. I don't know the scale for action figures, but these doors open and there are seats. If I had a GI Joe from my youth, I would've tried it for this review.I had to charge up some batteries before I could test it. It takes more than stated in the listing. This one takes 5 AA for the car. It's actually faster than I thought it would be. With all the details, I'm not sure it should be moving as fast as it can.All in all, it's a very detailed R/c car that you can just mess around with without any trouble at all. Pop in some batteries and go. Simple. Add some low angle video cameras and boom. New blockbuster for YT.

First thing to note is there are two different sizes of vehicles offered in this listing. One is 1:14, the larger, the other is 1:24. I'd say the smaller 1:24 size is more suitable for indoor play. The larger one has a large turning radius that makes it a challenge to operate indoors. And the speed is pretty fast (not racing fast, but pretty fast) and not really adjustable -- it's straight on or off, forward or reverse.A total of seven AA batteries are required for the larger 1:14 size -- five for the vehicle and two for the remote. The pairing process between remote and vehicle is simple: just turn on the vehicle and wait a few seconds for the remote to pair.The detail and realism are impressive, on par with collectible diecast vehicles. The Mercedes G55 interior even has a cup holder. The headlights and taillights operate. Front and rear doors open (manually). Operation is pretty simple with just two rocker style switches on the remote.

I love how realistic this i8 looks! I also love that it's a 1:14 scale, which is the perfect size vehicle that can be added to my collection of toy cars. I still have a few that I want to add to my collection, I have smaller version of this i8 which I received as a gift from my local BMW dealer, but this is the perfect collector's car! It simply just looks great on display, in a case.However, the power isn't great and it doesn't go very fast, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars, but the design and likeness of the actual i8 is quite impressive and I also love the the butterfly wing doors actually do open just like the actual i8! The wheels looks great and there the paint looks pretty flawless too. The outline of the car looks great too.I wish the remote and the car has and uses rechargeable batteries (more sustainable) instead of using regular batteries. So I will likely primarily going to display this car in my collection along with my other collectible scale vehicles. I adore this car and how it looks, even though it doesn't go very fast or very powerful to drive, for a super sports car, the power and performance is certainly lacking, but it sure is one stunning vehicle BMW has ever built. I am just so glad I found a scale 1:14 toy car for this model!

This car could be placed on a shelf and serve as a really cool-looking car model, but it has the added benefit of being drivable (and has those cool doors open and close at the push of a button)! Headlights activate when driving forward and taillights activate when backing up (not entirely accurate, but still a cool effect). Runs on normal batteries instead of a typical RC battery pack. We use rechargeables. It may not be top of its price group in performance, but it makes up for it with style and cool factor.
