Q: Does it matter if you mount them upside down? I'd rather the wider end be on along the bottom of the cars' mirror and it get narrower as it goes up.

I can't answer that. both mirrors fell of the first 20 - 30 minutes of driving on interstate 95 in Florida, don't buy them they are crap!

They have two in the package one for the right and one for the left

The picture shows it all - taken from my eyes point you can see that Corolla's 2022 left drivers mirror is completely missing Mazda, only showing Honda. It isl like the car manufacturer is saying - enjoy your lane change crashes!
