Came pretty much good to go. Minimal set up required.
So new guitars at this price point rarely arrive problem free, however this one is a wee peach. Maybe the luck of the draw? Paint finish is spotless. Electrics are earthed. All the electrics worked straight out of the box. The strings were not good but that's normal. Chrome is perfect. Neck is perfect. Tuners are good for what they are, they work and don't slip. So: strings loosened, set the neck relief, truss rod was smooth and precise, fretboard is lovely, no fret sprout, frets and fret ends were surprisingly smooth, checked with a fret rocker - only one fret up at 20 was a wee bit high so I addressed that, polished all the frets, rounded and polished the ends, tightened the tuners onto the headstock, oiled the tuners, fed the fretboard, lubed the nut with graphite (a very pointy pencil), fitted new Ernie Ball SS9s, set the heights and intonation, set the action as low as I like it, buzz free, and that is low!, set the pickup heights. Honestly a great playing guitar. And that lake placid blue finish is fantastic. For under £200 you'd be mad not to. I've paid much more for other guitars and got much less in return.

Amazing value!
I bought the Squier Affinity Telecaster in Butterscotch Blonde, from Amazon warehouse. Saved a good £30 on the already dirt cheap price of £212 - what a bargain! The parcel came in the original packaging, which had been opened previously but showed very little damage. The guitar itself was well cushioned with packaging inside and, after giving it a thorough going over, the only fault I could spot was a very slight blemish on one of the edges of the main body's paintwork - the sort of mark that my other guitars have aplenty from general use! I was able to lick my thumb and smoothe it out, good as new!The guitar is made in China, contrary to some advertising is as Indonesia. Regardless of where it's made, this is a very well made guitar and I'd be hard pushed to tell it apart from and American made Tele. The only real giveaway is the weight, as the poplar wood is a fair bit lighter than the Ash or Alder used on the originals. This actually has it's benefits, as it makes it very playable without putting too much stress on your back. The only drawback is a bit of neck dive, which is not a big issue at all.The pickups and control knobs/switch are a cheaper alternative to the OG, as is the plastic truss rod nut, compared with the OG's bone nut. These are minor aesthetics, that really don't affect the playing of the guitar unless you are a perfectionist audiophile who has a finely tuned ear. It's honestly the best sounding and easiest playing guitar I've ever owned and I can barely tell the difference between this and original teles I've previously played.Buy this guitar or you'll regret it when they realise they're undercutting themselves at this price!

Amazing Telecaster guitar for the money. Sounds as good as a £3000 guitar.
So there's nothing really to fault this guitar (Fender Squire Affinity Telecaster), especially for the price (£189 in December 2022 from Amazon UK). Delivered directly from Fender UK (nice). I'm no expert guitarist, but have played a few in my time, and have written for guitar (bass / electric /acoustic).The sound is spot on for a Telecaster. Easy to tune and the strings hold their tuning fairly well over time. The finish of the neck and body is of good quality (smooth and glossy body, with smooth satin neck), and the fret is finished perfectly (no sharp edges or rough bits). Even the 2 knobs and the coils selector feel pretty solid (reviews of older versions found these to be a bit plasticy and bendy). Its fairly light - I'm used to something with a couple of more KGs weight, but that is probably a good thing - especially for beginners.Note: The strings come loosely tuned (down tuned), so wil need to be tuned upon delivery. There are a number of good easy to use iPhone / Android apps that wil do this very quickly / easily. In all, a really good all rounder for blues / jazz / rock / country / pop / lead or backing.

Amazing
Hard to fault the construction, sound and playability of this guitar. It’d be a good buy in any case, but at the price it’s amazing. I compared it directly to a USA professional Telecaster, and I’d say this is 85% of the pro tele at 20% of the price. Remarkable value. I’d gig it without hesitation. I enjoy playing it, and it has great tones from the edgy bridge pickup to the more mellow neck pickup. Holds tune perfectly well. Comfortable bridge and no nonsense hardware. I’ve had a few of these Squiers over the years and they seem to constantly improve; this one is even better than my previous one, which was itself a fine guitar. All in all, a great buy for beginners, intermediates who want a tele sound, or pros who want a guitar to chuck in the luggage for holidays!

Amazing birthday present
I bought this for my sons first electric guitar after him learning acoustic for a while. I was recommended this as a decent gateway guitar and wasn't disappointed. It looks fantastic, is easy for him to tune, is light enough for a young teenager to manage and sounds like other premium models when connecter to a decent amp. Ive now seen him play concerts!

Just had to review.
I don't normally bother with a review, however, i took delivery of this guitar today, 1 day earlier than i was expecting, so that was excellent. Well I got the shock of my life....NEVER in all the time i have been playing and have bought guitars has 1 guitar come from the manufacturers and played STRAIGHT OUTTA the box. I just tuned it and started playing straight away. Yes the original strings aren't that good, but good enough till i can get to the luthiers after christmas. What a machine for the money. I admit, having read other reviews, that i was expecting something reasonable, but i was very suprised. Well done!!
