I checked out several magnifiers before buying this one. Actually buying it with no intention of using the led lights on the underside, but thinking they may come in handy sometime. Little did I realize that the day I received it, I put batteries in started looking at all sorts of things with the lights!!! The lights are fantastic.I would recommend this magnifying glass with led lights to anyone. It seems to be very good quality, easy to use and read with, the magnification is clear and the the lens is bigger than I expected.

IT IS A VERY, VERY GOOD ITEM. EASY TO TURN LIGHT OFF AND ON, EASY TO PICK UP WITH ONE HAND WHILE THE OTHER HAVD MAY BE HOLDING THE ITEM YOU ARE TRYING TO SEE CLEARLY. THE STRENGTH OF THE MAGNIFICATION IS JUST RIGHT FOR MY EYESIGHT. VERY EASY TO USE AND EXTREMELY HANDY BEING BATTERY OPERATED.

This hefty magnifying glass is eight inches long and weighs eight ounces without the required 2 AA size batteries (not Included). The batteries are required to light up the 12 LED lights installed in the circumference of the lens. The circular glass lens measures three inches in diameter. The reason I am returning this fine magnifier is because I was misled. The Amazon ad and even the product box claims 30X magnification. Actually the magnification is only 2X or 3X. I already own 4 magnifying glasses with this same magnifying power. I only bought this glass due to false claims that had me thinking it was much more powerful. I noticed on Amazon other magnifying glasses all claim 30X magnifying power so DON’T believe it. They very likely are all 3X and that is stretching the magnification IMHO. It is probably 2.5X. One magnifying glass from another maker claims 30X but if you click in on their site, they state magnification is 3.0 power. All my own magnifying glasses have the identical magnification power as this glass be they glass or plastic lens so this must be a manufacturer standard. If you buy a magnifier for reading, shop for a rectangular lens. With a circular 3 inch lens, readers are forced to center the text to get the maximum 3 inch wide field of view. With a rectangular lens you don’t have to waste as much energy to read the text since you don’t have to center the magnifier to read the next line of text. This is a quality product, well-made, but I deduct one star for false advertising. Since this product does not even out power my four magnifying glasses that I currently own, I am returning it.

Lens is absolutely not 30x. More like 3x. It seems like all the magnifying glasses lie about their strength though. The lights are far to dim to be useful, so I removed the batteries. If you need a magnifier with lights, this is not the product what you want.

Bought them for my mother to assist her when reading. Lighted lens is a plus. Handle is easy to hold. Good value.
