TRIWONDER 25.4 31.8mm Bike Stem 0-60 Degrees Bicycle Handlebar Riser Fork Stem 1 1/8" for Mountain Bike Bicycle, Road Bike, MTB, BMX, Cycling with Hex Key

I have a Boardman HYB 8.9E e-bike which I use and about to go on a long touring trip. Compared to my previous bike I was finding I was getting pain in the back and neck, and was looking for a convenient way to be able to alter my riding position to something more comfortable. An adjustable stem both raises the handlebars and brings them closer to the rider, and after some research looked to be easier than either raising the headset, or going for a fixed shorter stem.The kit contained a couple of headset spaces - I needed the 5mm one to add to the existing stack because the headset end of the new adjustable stem had 5mm less depth than my old one; the kit comes with two different spacers, giving you 4 different possibilities (including no spacer) and more if combined with any existing spacers. The product is well made and good quality (I am about to trust it for trip of something like 800km, after a few test rides).I did quite a bit of research into adjustments, and there is one thing people should be aware of. As you increase the angle, you are effectively "shortening" the stem; this makes it more responsive (mountain bikes tend towards shorter stems and road bikes to longer stems) so be aware that it will affect how the bike handles. In my case, the effectively shorter stem (I am testing with a 50 degree angle) compensates a bit for the weight of panniers on a rack on the front wheel.If you are changing the angle by more than a couple of degrees, you also need to slacken off and rotate the handlebars otherwise your brake and gear levers may be at an awkward angle, so it is 5 bolts, not one, to make a significant adjustment.Initial results are that it achieves what I wanted, but I only have to set the angle back to zero for it to be the same as my previous fixed stem e.g. if I have a long day into a strong headwind and want the lower stance.

Decent kit for mtb where weight isn't an issue. Despite being of alloy construction, the part is quite heavy. It was at least double the weight of the standard stem i replaced it with.Installation was straightforward and the part was value for money.

Excellent stem for extending the handlebars on my Giant Explorer E+ Pro. Other reviews suggest that this item can creak under stress, but I found that the adjustment locks nicely when tightened securely, and makes no noises in use. the only thing I found was that the handlebar clamp end had to be shaved down down a very small amount to allow the display to fit over it as it was marginally wider than the original clamp. Far better solution than fitting a set of BMX bars that I was considering.

Perfect and no more achey back. Easy to fit and adjust.

I had the need to raise my handle bars much higher and this contraption did the job. Installation is easy if you’re keen cyclist and know your stuff. Basic tools included.

Makes the bike more comfortable to ride but mine squeaked and flexed a lot under braking. So much so that I removed it and replaced with a solid one

Made it easy for riding my bike do not have to bend my back so muchSo I don't ache so much Certainly value for money
