Works exactly as expected
I used this to connect an old dvd player to a modern tv. The only way to do this was with a scart cable. I did also need to get a box to plug the scart cable into, which converted the signal to hdmi, as my tv could only take hdmi. Once set up it all works perfectly. Good thick cable. Scart a bit wobbly in sockets, but in my long experience of using computers I find this is normal. Picture quality seems fine.

Great for connecting my old dvd player
When I put my Panasonic 50 inch plasma TV on the wall I got the old Sony DVD player out to watch some films and realised I didn't have a cable. The DVD is too old for HDMI, but has SCART. Fortunately the TV is also old enough to have a SCART connector and so I bought this cable. It is the perfect length to reach from the equipment shelves in the alcove to the TV. Picture quality is great, don't know about sound because that goes optically to my amp. Very pleased with it.

It didn't work...
I was not able to get this to work as it would not go into the SCART socket on the TV. I wasn't able to work out why. As I tried to insert it, the pins were not going into the socket and when I pushed a little harder, I made no progress.Removing the plug, I looked at the pins to discover about a quarter of them had bent slightly. I think they may be too thick or too broad to fit in a SCART socket. I tried it in a few other sockets with the same results.I'm not sure if this is a one-off or not. I didn't go for the cheapest option, maybe I should have.
