This is essential if you live anywhere it gets cold. I use this in temperatures ranging from high 60s to the low 30s and I am still toasty warm with no chills on my back at all. You will sleep so much better in your hammock it's definitely worth it!

I have only used this once, so I cannot attest to the long term of this item. I bought this for a camping trip where I knew the temps might drop lower than expected and they probably wound up in the 50s. I put this on for the first time in the middle of the night, with a headlamp when cold and it was just enough to keep me comfortable. It worked as advertised and made my night much more enjoyable.

I bought two of these and they've made a huge difference in our outdoor hammock enjoyment! Before if it was 60° and the sun had set, no dice: It was too cold to be in a hammock. Now, even when it's 45° out with no sun, I can put on a hoodie and relax comfortably because of these amazing underquilts.

Warm but smaller than hammock.

We bought two, one for each of our hammocks. Went camping and it got down to 50 degrees at night. Just having one was not enough, very cold. We ended up having to double up and sleep in the same hammock. That said, they were pretty easy to set up and it worked well with two of them. They are kind of large to bring backpacking though.
