Wow, this thing is sharp! Seriously, you could lose a finger quick! I use it to chop brisket and ribs. I gave one to each of my brothers and all of them love it. Its everything you want it to be for a decent price.

Decent knife but very dull when I received it .....times 2
Had a hard time dicing an onion without pushing very hard. I had to sharpen this knife after this as I was afraid it would slip and cut my fingers etc. Should be much sharper to begin with, especially when brand new out of the box. I would rate it a 6 out of 10 overall because of this. I bought a second knife again for a friend and had to sharpen his first before giving it to him. Sad because it feels great in my hand but embarrassed to give a friend a knife he has to sharpen right out of the box. SMH.

High quality steel. Holds an edge.
Meet cleavers are not just for cutting meat. I have had this knif for around a year. This is the best knife I have ever used for cutting ALL my food, not just meat. All the reviews that wrote that they can't get a sharp edge on it, don't know how to sharpen a knife! This is one of the easiest knives I've ever sharpened. I use a chefs rod sharpener and it come out very sharp EVERY time. If you don't know how to sharpen a knife, that is one thing. But don't write that it is a cheap knife that won't get a sharp edge just because you don't know how to sharpen a high quility carbon steel cleaver. And the review that said that it is to heavy, that he will be using it instead to chop wood, doesn't realize that all good quality cleavers are heavy like this. News flash. This is a meat cleaver. If you want a ax, go buy an ax. I have used it at least sixty times to cut food for dinner. This knife is made of fantastic high carbon stainless steel. It should be at least three times the price. That's how good this knife is. It also comes with a thick, good quality leather sheath. It is relitvly easy to sharpen. It really holds an edge incredably, once sharpened. The steel is not to hard where it becomes brittle. It's also not to soft where it won't hold an edge. The hardness is just the correct balance. It holds an edge better than my $150 great brand camping knife. Once the food is cut on my chopping block, I can easily scrap up the food onto the side of the knife, having the blade go under the side of my hand and pushing it onto the knife then picking up the food and putting it into a bowl, frying pan ect., just the way the chefs do in Chinese restaurants. It is much more efficient that way. That is what makes this a much better option for cutting ALL my food, rather than using a regular chefs knife. I know. I used to be a chef in a five star restaurant in CT. This knife is just as good as the expensive $140 knives that were bought from a restayrant supply company for the restaurant I worked at . So, buy it. You won't be disappointed with it!!!
